I lived with my young family in Hong Kong until 1990, teaching at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and doing freelance illustration and painting. It was a busy but exciting time.
I used to take every opportunity to explore the numerous streets and faces of Hong Kong and the open spaces of the New Territories, often with my children on my shoulders. My work at this time consisted of watercolours, monoprints, and tempera paintings, which I painted on odd occasions when I had a little more time.
